Island Safaris is a small family owned 4×4 vehicle hire business offering affordable 4X4 rentals.
We operate from Brisbane (Kallangur). Vehicles can be picked up from and dropped off at either Kallangur or the Brisbane Airport. Unfortunately we do not provide vehicles in Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach.
All our vehicles are 105 series Toyota Landcruisers which are specially adapted for beach driving.
Our vehicles are meticulously maintained and serviced. In accordance with Park Boards recommendations, all our vehicles are fitted with “high clearance suspensions”. Most 4×4 vehicle hire operators will not inform you of the necessary to have a lifted vehicle in order to travel safely on the islands. A requirement that might just leave you stranded later on.
Only high clearance 4WD vehicles are suitable for Fraser Island’s sandy forest tracks and beaches. Drivers of all-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive vehicles with low ground clearance may find beach access points and inland tracks impassable
